Tips from locals
Beautiful historic fish hatchery turned park, they do tours of the old buildings on the property. Great way to spend a relaxing day outside walking.
Very interesting little-known regional history, outdoor and indoor museum, fish viewing, and free. The gift shop has some local pickles and preserves, don't miss it!
Very cool place. Right next to the city park it is a family friendly place to visit. Free (except for the fish food you will want to buy for the enormous trout) . Explore the buildings and hike the grounds. A great place to bring a lunch
An amazing piece of U.S. history. There is no fee to enter. The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. Highly recommend spending an hour or so to visit the historic buildings, learn about how trout were introduced into South Dakota and other states in the late 1800s. Kids will get a kick out of feeding the fish.
