Why locals recommend it
It has hosted showcases of work by artists such as Michael Dean, who was nominated for Britain’s top art award, the Turner Prize, and Jamaican illustrator Wilfred Limonious, who created a vast amount of record-sleeve art for the dancehall music scene. It’s located right next to Camberwell College of Arts—my onetime university—in a lovely old building. The gallery has a very good cafe, with delicious cakes and cups of tea and coffee. I recommend the carrot cake!

Tips from locals
Set between Camberwell and Peckham, this is a tiny indie gallery! Worth a visit if in the area.
Local gallery, 2 sites, one with a brunch place on the ground floor and another in a converted fire station
The South London Gallery is a short stroll from the property (10-min walk) and extremely popular. It's open Tuesday-Sunday and they have a great café too (Crane's Kitchen).
