Tips from locals
A staple of the tourist trail, the area accessed from the Blow Hole car park is an easily accessible place to appreciate the geology of the Tasman Peninsula. The blow hole is a sea cave with one opening on the exposed eastern cliff and another on the sheltered western side. With the right conditions, you'll experience the thunderous sounds of the waves being forced through. The Fossil Bay lookout provides a view of the surrounding cliffs while nearby Fossil Island, as the name implies, is a great place to poke around if you're interested in rocks and fossils.
