There is nice architecture in this Park. You can also see the ruins from the great Hanshin earthquake from 1995 in this park. They have preserved the damage on purpose to show the extent of the damage. Across from the park is the Port tower and then comes Harbourland (UMIE, CONCERTO CRUISE) that has lots of shopping and restaurants !

Kobe Port Tower Famous as a symbol of Kobe, the Kobe Port Tower is a 108 m-high landmark tower located in Meriken Park. The world’s first building to feature a pipe structure, it was nicknamed the Steel Tower Beauty as a result of its unique structure and shape, reminiscent of an elongated Japanese drum, and was awarded a prize by the Architectural Institute of Japan in 1963

Near the harborfront has a poignant memorial to the devastating Hanshin Earthquake in 1995, which killed 6,433 people.And also great bayside location for picnic.
