Hopkins Falls. Hopkins Falls Road, Cudgee, Victoria, 3265. Hopkins Falls is just a 15-kilometre drive from Warrnambool. The Hopkins River mouth (and Blue Hole) with its beautiful cliffs, rock formations and rock pools is a popular fishing spot, picnic area and walking spot. Measuring 90 metres wide and plunging 12 metres over dark basalt rocks, the curtain-like Hopkins Falls is the largest in the Hopkins River. Take in the views from the two viewing platforms overlooking the falls and take the easy path from to the platform below for postcard-worthy snaps. Visit the falls in winter to see them at their most impressive. In summer, keep an eye out for baby short-finned eels migrating upstream and jumping the rocky ledges during their migration to the Coral Sea (3000 km away). Just up from the river mouth, boating, water-skiing and swimming are possible. The National Trust-classified Proudfoots Boathouse is nearby.
