Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate is one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa, known for its red wines. The role of nature in the sustainability of wine production has always been respected at the farm. Breeding of a small flock of ducks started in the late 1980's as a form of natural pest control in the vegetable gardens. Today, a 1000-strong flock of Indian Runner Ducks keeps the vineyards free of snails and pests. The Parade of Ducks (walking to and from the vineyards) has become a major public attraction at Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate.
