Carlsbad Caverns National Park is in the Chihuahuan Desert of southern New Mexico. It features more than 100 caves. Walnut Canyon Desert Loop is a drive with beautiful desert views. Rattlesnake Springs, a desert wetland, attracts reptiles and hundreds of bird species. Be sure to schedule the bat flight one evening!
8th wonder of the world. Have lunch 800ft underground in this unique underground cavern that was once at the bottom of the ocean floor. wear goof walking shoes and a light jacket the tempurature is always pretty cool down there year around. Dont forget to stop and see the bat flight.
Carlsbad Caverns is just an hour away from the camp. It is well worth the trip! Depending on the time of the year, plan to stay later for the bat flight. It’s amazing!
