Tips from locals
Somerton Park Beach is adjacent to Glenelg beach in the north and Brighton Beach in the south. It is a wide beach about two kilometers long. The Minda Dunes are one of only two remaining examples of a secondary dune system along the Adelaide metropolitan coastline. They are the only section of privately-owned dunes along the Adelaide coast and are protected as part of a coastal conservation zone. Such a beautiful and picturesque place. Great beach for a walk. The city council has maintained it so well. There are a lot of benches, jogging/walking track, and litter bins along the beach. Calm and peaceful place. The neighborhood is quiet and the people are friendly.
