Appalachian Farm and Mountain Trail Ride
Ride. Restore. (Re)connect. Picture yourself meandering through the idyllic, mountain-framed grounds of a historic 300-acre farm and forest located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The property is cradled in a pastoral valley with wooded mountains and a bubbling creek, and is home to some of the most stunning flora and fauna in the Eastern US such as goldenseal and spring ephemerals like trillium, violet, and ramps. Our trails wind over hilly oak savannah and gradually climb through mature hardwood groves near the border of Pisgah National Forest. Discover the special relationship between trees and trout, identify wildflowers and other plants and animals, and immerse yourself in an outdoor adventure that will engage all five senses. The 90 minute horseback ride takes place on the Evans family farm in rural Barnardsville, NC. Lovingly referred to as “The Dairy,” the farm was in operation from the 1930s until 2008 and has a history almost as beguiling as the land it’s on. (To boot: it used to sell milk to the famous Biltmore Estate!) We will begin the trail ride by getting to know each other and our horses. After that, we will briefly explore the ins and outs of horseback riding. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or first-timer, a kid or a retiree, it doesn’t matter; anyone can do it. Then we’ll be off, gaining 200 feet of elevation and a lifetime of memories.
Tip-Based Asheville Walking Tour
Pay what you want in the end! We will start downtown in Pack Square to learn about the history, architecture, and some of the local legends surrounding Asheville! During our tour, we will be sure to cover all major landmarks like the Basilica of St Lawrence, and the Grove Park Arcade, but we will also go off the beaten path to explore the Block, the YMI, Woolworth Walk's old-timey soda fountain, and Wall St's catwalk! During the trip, I will be providing insider tips on the best places to eat, drink and play for the best prices, including the places where locals hang out for free! We will discuss hidden gems that many people walk by daily without ever noticing an eagle overhead, the faces engraved on the wall, or secret mice! We will dive deeper into Asheville's "buy local" culture and what that means for companies who get listed as "sell-outs." Also, we will discuss stories of sabotage, controversy, and little-known success stories of previous residents! We will also check out a cool museum called Leaf Global and taste local spirits from a distillery and ice cream from the Hop! At the end, my guest will get discount beer tickets to taste some local brews from one of Asheville's finest, local breweries called Twin Leaf. Other thing If you are unable to make your reservation, please let me know so I can plan accordingly!
Asheville barhop by SUP or Kayak
We will be exploring a couple of the best breweries of Asheville by SUP and kayak! 21&up. Get your friends together for a river caravan down the French Broad! This river is flat and wide, an easy beginner run, winding through the river arts district. Our guides will help you learn to kayak or SUP if you are new to it. It is a scenic and fun way to get to the breweries. Great for groups, solo travelers or couples, because you make friends with your crew throughout the afternoon. We have dry bags for personal items, dress to get wet and still be able to walk a block or two. Our takeouts are riverside banks, not docks, so ability to get out of your boat and walk up a trail is required. A sample or two can be provided at the breweries, but bring your wallet to purchase beer and food.
Canoe the river to local craft breweries
Recipe for a perfect day: Floating down an ancient river, cooling your toes in the water, laughing with good friends... all within reach of award-winning breweries serving up fresh craft beverages and tasty treats. We start by meeting near Asheville's River Arts District, where your canoeing gear and friendly guide await. Canoe on a navigable but adventurous section of the French Broad River, where one of the oldest rivers on the planet passes by some of the best spots in "Beer City USA." We'll paddle up to a variety of Asheville's best breweries, eateries, funky riverside bars, and wading pools. Each trip will vary based on the weather, what is open, and what the folks in your group enjoy most. Most trips include 2 breweries, a couple of eating options, and depending on the day, a bonus brewery or winery. Non-drinkers will have plenty of sight-seeing options nearby as well. Depending on the time of year, we may see otters, beavers, herons, friendly ducks, and colorful fish. Other things to note You will enjoy this the most if you are comfortable with being on a river and are able to swim. Rapids are very mild (Class I at most). No pets or children allowed.

Guided Asheville Paddleboard Trip That Finishes By A Brewery
Your guided paddleboard trip begins when you meet your local host in Asheville's River Arts District. We'll drive you up through the heart of West Asheville and point out places to eat, drink, listen to music—spots that locals would know! When we reach the starting point at Hominy Creek Park we'll get you set up with boards and life jackets, and then give you a lesson on how to standup paddle—we're all certified instructors! The trip begins on a protected creek that's calm, shallow, and has a sandy bottom, where you get to paddle through a tunnel of trees before emerging out onto the French Broad River for the 4-mile paddle through town. Your host will paddle right alongside and teach you tricks and how to steer while sharing stories about Asheville's fascinating past. Meet other travelers who are visiting the city, and since the spot where we finish is within walking distance of breweries it's easy to hang out afterwards. Feel free to bring a local beverage for the leisurely cruise down the river, and the 1.5 hour paddle concludes back at the spot where you first met your host. This activity is great for groups! Other things to note: You'll finish back where you parked your car—so you can leave a change of clothes/ towels in your car. No need to bring them on the river. Please be advised there aren't any restrooms; the nearest facilities are at 14 Riverside Dr.
