Finding new places to stay is one of the joys of travel. We want to make sure guests looking for a space like yours can easily discover it. Whether you’re hosting a campsite, a condo, or a castle, Airbnb Categories can help you showcase what’s special about your space and entice guests to book.
What are Airbnb Categories?
In May 2022, we introduced Airbnb Categories, a new way for guests to discover millions of unique places to stay around the world. Over 60 different categories classify homes based on their style, location, or proximity to an activity.
Guests searching for a place to stay can browse categories like Cabins, Lakefront, and National Parks. They can also search listings by destination and their results show up under All Homes.
Any listing on Airbnb can appear under All Homes if it matches a guest’s search for a particular destination. It can also show up in one or more Airbnb Categories when it meets specific criteria.
Listings in each category go through a curation process. Millions of homes on Airbnb are evaluated using machine learning to analyze titles, descriptions, photo captions, and guest reviews.
How to check your listing’s category
You can check the category your listing is in from your hosting account. Go to your listing details and scroll down to the Categories section. The name of the Airbnb Category, if one or more applies, is displayed there. Tap or click for a description of that category.
As we continue to expand categories and update our service, it’s important to keep your listing details up to date. Review your amenities to make sure you’ve selected everything your space offers.
