My wife Stephanie and I had to leave Anchorage due to her military transfer out of state, but we love Alaska and couldn’t stand the thought of selling our east Anchorage home. We decided to keep it as a vacation home instead and make it available to others through Airbnb when we aren’t there. The townhome is newer construction; built in 2014 in a neighborhood of all new homes on the northeast side of Anchorage. It’s 1850 square feet with 3 bedrooms 2 1/2 bathrooms and a large 2nd floor landing.

The cottage is a secluded guesthouse in a friendly neighborhood with spectacular views of the Knik Glacier and river. This retreat has room for up to four guests. It is an open floor plan with a double bed on the ground floor and twin beds in an upstairs loft. The kitchen has an induction cooktop, refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave. Propane BBQ on the deck and bathroom with a shower. Our cottage is not visible from the parking area so self check-in is not an option.

Lake Log Cabin

Our lake log cabin in located on beautiful Carpenter Lake. While small and somewhat rustic, it has a loft bedroom accessible via a spiral staircase with a queen size bed and a downstairs bedroom with a twin over full bunk bed. The cabin has a full kitchen and a small bathroom with a shower. The sun room was our favorite place to hang out when we lived in the cabin with views of the lake and the rest of the property.
